I am shocked if any state has as high number as claimed. Many people claim going to church but reality is different. The so-called conservative states are no different.

Interesting stats. There have been similar studies out recently. My wife goes every Sunday and on holy days. Me only on holidays. I do not think any of my friends go. We are all conservative—social and fiscal. None religious fanatics.

Yes, I’m surprised it is that high. My town has many churches built decades ago by church-going populations (Catholic and Protestant), and most are fairly empty on Sundays. There is a rise in evangelical storefront churches targeting Hispanics and Brazilians (the former Catholics our bishops think they’ll attract via supporting amnesty); these are more like social clubs/businesses than churches.
