More than two years after Coloradans voted to allow recreational marijuana use, the states residents continue to stand firmly behind keeping the drug legal, a new poll found.
The survey, commissioned by Quinnipiac University, found that 58 percent of Colorado voters support keeping pot legal, while only 38 percent are against it.
The result featured significant gender and age disparities. Voters ages 18 to 34 favored it overwhelmingly, 82-16 percent, while 50 percent of those ages 55 and older were against it, with only 46 percent in support.
Likewise, men supported the measure by a margin of 63-33, while women only favored it 53-44.

What does this say about CO residents?? I’m not sure. Are they just tired of trying to suppress it? Revenue source? Or are there just a lot of potheads there? I am totally surprised that my state, Taxifornia, has not legalized it. There are MANY potheads here and a state government that takes as much wealth as it can in taxes.
Part of the modern equivalent to the ancient Roman bread and circuses, it appears.
Voters ages 18 to 34 favored it overwhelmingly, 82-16 percent,...
Not just CO, either. The numbers are lopsided among younger voters everywhere.
It is THE greatest unsolved mystery of all time!
Yeah.
Older voters is telling. People who actually have experienced life aren’t quite so stupid and aren’t easily sold on some false idea of freedom.
FDR? The marijuana out there today is 20 times more potent than in the 60’s
apples and oranges doesn’t even come close
or post-modern
Wow, legalization has grown in popularity.
Sorry, Nanny-state, you’re going to have to come up with a new excuse for telling people what to do.
Morals, that’s how we survived back then. But morals are you legal now so there is no cure for marijuana addiction in Colorado.
marrying children has grown in popularity too, doesn’t make it okay
Legal grass will spread as fast or faster than casino gambling (2 states —> 40 states in 25 years).
Money for the legislatures to spend is hard to resist.
'It's inevitable, Jim'
It says we think the drug war is a bigger menace to our state than people smoking pot. It says we like the fact that the cartels cannot compete with the free market, and have left Colorado.
And this qualitative improvement happened while pot was illegal.
American agriculture..the world standard. The ag college majors at Colorado State and Washington State are probably more popular these days.
Commie libs love to live miserable lives so they need that frequent marijuana kick in the ass to cheer them up. They need to get high when they’re miserable all of the time.
It is part of a huge push to turn Colorado permanently Democrat. You wouldn’t believe the radio ads promoting marijuana use and for users to move to Colorado.
“And this qualitative improvement happened while pot was illegal.”
Side note...it makes sense that cross-breeding and optimum horticulture would result in qualitatively better pot - but from the subjective standpoint, I’ve never heard anyone who’s tried both say that the current stuff is even close to 20x as “strong” as quality pot in the 60’s. Reefer madness?
The GOP just took control of the CO Senate and cut the democrat lead in the house from 37D-28R to 34D-31R.
