Someone apparently needs to tell Raytheon that that means you launch it from an aircraft. If you launch it from the ground, it's not an air-to-air missile.
Actually the AMRAAM is air to air - right in the name. They also happen to be able to launch it from the ground in a slightly different configuration. So I don’t think referring to AMRAAM as “air to air” is a mistake.
