My oldest daughter joined the Coast Guard when she was 18. As soon as she reached her ship on the West Coast, she “disappeared” for 8 weeks, and finally emailed me from Borneo.
That is to say, I know it must be dreadful for you for your daughter to be vulnerable so far away!
