Most “poor whites”, even ones with little or no education, know a scam when they see one. They have enough common sense to know “indentured servitude” when they see it.
My Dad’s favorite saying was, “You are only enslaved to the extent of charity that you receive!” It’s true, and I’ve always tried to live by that.
By being beholding to no man, or government, people can think for themselves. Poor whites seem to find power in being independent, poor blacks seem to want to huddle in groups and all mimic a central leader, I.e. Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.
Independence is what America is all about, freedom is one of the results.
Assuming that rich or poor is an indicator of intelligence is wrong. I’d rather know that the real fruits of my labor are freedom and independence, not mansions or BMW’s.
Lazy libs seem to think life is about throwing themselves at people like Obama and holding on for dear life, when in fact, they are just candy wrappers, to be tossed and discarded when the candy (votes, support) are all gone.
Libs are easy prey for con men fawning of that welfare check he drags through their neighborhood.
Well that’s oversimplifying things. There’s charity which has a face, and which even God advocates, and then there is the machine-like, political spoils modern dole, which if it does good it does so by circumstance, not by design.
There is no genuine shame in accepting charity with a view to being in a position to be not only self sufficient but being able to help someone else as soon as possible. It hurts our prides, but God is not interested in our prides.
I’ve heard the repeated joke about the libertarian showing up at the GM plant, where people say they vote Democrat because Democrats are pro-union, and the libertarian says, “Maybe, but a lot of you have trucks with gun racks on the back out in the parking lot, and the Democrats want to take the gas guzzlers and the guns away - which is why you ought to vote for me.”
