A guy I work with tossed out something the other day that made me think. He said that the militant islamists are the baseline of islam. The peaceful mulsims are actually the radicals because they are choosing peace rather than militant domination as prescribed by islam.
Count yourself fortunate. You work with a smart guy. The problem is when Christians of all persuasions cast off violence as a method they can do so on the basis of the foundational teachings of Christ. The compass for the Muslims points them in the opposite direction. So the deeper they go into the foundations of their religion and the more fervent they become the louder and more clearly the call to murder will be heard.
