City to negotiate with union that has no members
The American Mirror ^ | 2/17/15 | Olaf Ekberg

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has no dues-paying members on the Moriarty, New Mexico police force, but that’s not stopping the union from demanding the city negotiate with it anyway.

The city’s police officers voted in 2011 to create a collective bargaining unit affiliated with AFSCME to negotiate employment contracts on their behalf, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Two officers joined, the majority did not.

Those two have since left the department. The seven officers currently employed by the city are not union members, though the union still claims to represent them.

So odd, so New Mexico, so unions's overblown sense of entitlement.

Nonsense like this has become standard daily fare during this administration. They are fundamentally changing America without a doubt.

I would offer them minimum wage, Social Security for a pension and Obamacare for health plan and if they don’t take it they can strike.

They don’t have any members... so a strike is all well and good.

A strike will mean JOBS! As the Union will hire street people to stand in front of City Hall and picket. To me its a win - win!

So, decertify it, remaining seven officers!

Liberals are trying to, and getting away with things that they only could dream of in the past while the country idly sits back and passively allows. Maybe too many of the population have fundamentally changed. Expect more to come.

Plus, with no dues-paying members, it should be a money-sink for them.
So it's really win-win-win.

Back in 2003 I did some home repairs for a gal who was a state [OH] employee and was an AFSCME member. I got a look at their hand book and it had a section full of anti-republican talking points, the exact ones we all heard parroted by lefties everywhere. They even named Bush/Cheney by name. To have such propaganda spread by a union serving state workers was sickening. I’m sure nothing has changed, either.

“So, decertify it, remaining seven officers! “

What’s really interesting here is that the majority would have had to vote for the union and then only two out of nine joined. What’s wrong with this picture?

They wanted to goldbrick — happy to let the union negotiate their contracts etc, but not joining because it’s a small bargaining unit and the dues would drink their checks.
