Not to nitpick but the documents were NOT forged. A forgery implies the existence of an original document.
The documents in question were fabricated. There is no evidence such documents every existed.
Dan Rather and Mary Mapes ought to be in prison for what they did.
Especially Mapes, who knew from the outset that this story was bogus from a non-credible source.
