I gave up all apples years ago, when they stopped tasting real and became mushy in consistency. I don’t have a single clue how they can make apples worse. The wonders of science, I guess.

Only Gala apples for me. Everything else just doesn’t taste right.

I'm lucky to live in a top apple producing state. Obviously the big growers are producing a lot of the crappy tasteless apples but I can go to a local orchard where the apples aren't bred for shipping.

Plus I have a good apple tree in my yard that I've brought back into production. I don't know what kind they are but they are nice clean great tasting apples.

Grow your own, the taste difference and texture are a real treat for your mouth and taste buds.
