In Vietnam, the surest way to get the VC/NVA to reveal their position (shoot at you) was to play acid rock music or country and western. The VC/NVA hated it! [I know this from personal experience.] I thought Vietnamese music sounded like two cats with tails tied together thrown over a clothes line, but it did not rise to gunfire.

LOL! When I was in VN somebody said Vietnamese music sounded like Sessue Hayakawa stapling two cats together while the orchestra is still tuning up!

Country music said to me that the good guys were taking care of things. Loved hearing it to the sweet sound of outgoing arty.
