Geron, if you have the link to & proof that Russian satellite photos you refer to were “obviously fakes,” I’d appreciate it.
just a quick Google search finds:
IndyChannel: http://www.theindychannel.com/newsy/russian-mh17-satellite-photo-debunked-by-internet-sleuths
BBC: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30064374
Moscow Times: http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/russian-tv-channel-s-proof-ukraine-downed-mh17-courts-controversy/511219.html
and as the stories note, those who debunked it first were Russians on Twitter.
quote from the IndyChannel story: “Russian web users were the first ones to start poking holes in the image, noting it actually popped up in a forum one month before Channel One’s “scoop.” Observers also noted other discrepancies with the image the plane’s flight trajectory was off, the fighter jet silhouette didn’t match Ukraine’s military planes, and the airliner’s logo was misplaced.”
Here is the pic everyone thinks they used to manufacture the fake satellite picture

and the “Ukrainian” plane supposedly firing a missile.... doesn’t match any aircraft owned by Ukraine.
