PORTAGE, MI "Move forward and never give up" is the motto 93-year-old Kay Didas lives by as she keeps herself motivated to maintain a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.
The Portage woman recently became one of four highlighted members at Curves in Portage for reaching 1,000 workouts. For this achievement, a photo poster of her is displayed on the wall.
For Didas working out is a lifestyle, not a goal. She said what kept her coming was her love and passion for working out and the positive atmosphere that staff and other members at Curves provide.
"I work out because it's something I enjoy," Didas said. "Every last person in this building (staff and members at Curves) makes me feel loved.
"This is a place where people greet you, smile at you and genuinely care about your well-being," she added.
She has been a member of Curves since 2007, working out for a half-hour three times a week for strength training, cardio and stretching. In addition, she recently joined a body basics class on Mondays to increase her balance, flexibility as well as additional strength training.
Curves Owner and Manager Rochelle Thompson said Didas is an inspiration and plays an integral part at Curves, epitomizing the true meaning of perseverance.
LOL, ya see....It's all about the looks.
So there ya have it....
This a 9 on the honking hoot scale.
BTW, I was taller than that at age 14...One other thing, the majority exercise club memberships are made up of men of smaller stature. Small man syndrome? I don't know.
Holy cow! That's extremely impressive! 99.99% of guys 40 years younger than you can't do that.
