This is a story with various reports flying from multiple directions and it’s hard to get a grasp on exactly what’s happening. What we know at the moment is that ISIS is claiming it has seized control of the al-Asad air base in the Ramadi area of Iraq. According to multiple twitter feeds the Iraqi army has lost contact with its people inside the base. From what we can tell the 300 Marines are on location to train Iraqi military. The Pentagon is pushing back on these initial reports about al-Asad. Sounds to me like there is a minor action at al-Asad designed to assure that no one gets any ideas about mounting up to assist hard pressed Iraqis at al-Baghdadi.
If the man (Obama) had a soul, he would not be sleeping. He would be bringing Biden up to date on all of the projects, so he is not surprised when Obama quit.

Agree. As long as Barry and Kerry will allow the military to continue resupplying them with bullets, they can show the Kenyan how to treat the boys from ISIS and give them a badly needed attitude adjustment.

It is about 6:00 am Friday morning there.
I will pray. I wish people wouldn’t make flippant comments about such news. It’s a big worry and makes me even angrier about what the traitor in the White House is doing.
Leaving two covert guys, in a CIA op sucked. And it happened. But that is indeed covert world. Leaving 300 grunts to their fate right in the national spotlight is another thing entirely.

I guess it would depend on how loyal the Iraqis really are to the 300 US Marines training them. Should it be asked, was it an ISIS plan from the beginning to get into the base posing as Iraqi soldiers to get to the Marines?
Just great. We’ve got our people over there training future ISIS members and they get pinned down.

Could be. Then you know as well as I do they will simply never surrender. Also, I have serious doubts that if they are in serious danger of being overrun, that the area will be getting hit hard with airstrikes.

I realize this link is a little long, but it is a sat image of the “airbase”. ISIS will have a very difficult time just closing with Marines who regularly QUALIFY on range at 500 yards. If the Marines are under siege, they will not be trying to hold off the entire airbase, they will selectively (ferociously) keep an area that can enable them easy re-supply and/or extraction with fall back positions. “High ground” area’s are most likely booby trapped already and I don’t believe reports of “lost communication”. Maybe from the Iraqi side, but our guys have comm.
Well, we haven’t gotten any new info since the original 6 hours ago.
No rumors, nada. What’s likely happened? Is al-Baghdadi rubble?
