UN warns that Yemen 'is collapsing before our eyes'

Efforts were underway on a draft Security Council resolution to address the crisis in the Arab world's poorest country. Britain and Jordan were working on a resolution that British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant said would be ready "in the next few days."
A separate draft resolution by the Gulf Coordination Council of Arab states on the Persian Gulf, obtained by The Associated Press, strongly condemns the Houthis and their seizure of power and demands that they "immediately and unconditionally withdraw their forces from government institutions and from all regions under their control."
The draft also demands that the Houthis "return government and security institutions to the state's authority," release all people under house arrest and return weapons seized from military and security institutions. The draft acts under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, meaning it can be militarily enforced.

Baraq managed to break the stalemate.
Yup. We invested half a billion bucks and 10 years of military aid to help give Yemen a stable government and the Yemeni people a chance for a better future
We were actually succeeding in turning around 700 years strife.
Obama has thrown all that into the toliet and now Yemen will revert to being a hot bed and breeding ground for Islamic radicalism with the various radical factions fighting among themselves and terrorizing the defenseless population
Leading from behind sucks for those poor bastards stuck on the front lines.
Way to go “O”.

Yemen has been inundated with American military supplies and I read an article this morning that no one knows where it is - perhaps a billion dollars worth. Do you suppose it is in Iran by now??

Don’t know who got it, but it’s in unfriendly hands for certain.

Yeah. It may be a big surprise to people who haven't been paying attention but many of us are amazed they managed to keep it together this long.

I am confident that Obama sees Muslim violence and terror as being a good thing for the humanity in the long run — and expects that, once enough heads have been severed, the planet will settle into a permanent peaceful submission to Islamic theocracy.

Libya is pretty divided up too these days with the “legitimate government” in the east at Tobruk instead of Triploi and ISIL and other groups controlling the rest

That’s unexpected. Who would have guessed that Yemen’s government would collapse immediately after Obama described Yemen as one of his big successes?
