Think how Ft. Hood would have ended if our military had been armed.

I’m not suggesting that everyone should carry on the installations, but not being able to carry even to and from work is unreasonable. Wearing a uniform or carrying a CAC shouldn’t mean you leave your rights behind.
This policy wasn’t driven by anything other than an Army general who felt he had to have a consistent policy. The other services followed suit because it was the easiest route, but it doesn’t make sense given the current environment.
