yes! whole foods... real foods is the way to go... eggs, butter (not margarine), meat, fish, veggies, fruit, plain greek yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese... red wine... the one whole food i limit is wheat... bread, pasta... i like it, but if i want to keep my weight down or feel my best, i cut it from my meals... i have learned to replace flour tortilla with corn tortilla...
just today i had a yummy baked porkchop--lightly breaded--and sauteed asparagus and grape tomatoes in butter for lunch... protein and veggies are my staples... breakfast was a cup of coffee and a bowl of greek yogurt, raspberries and blackberries...
diet soda or just about diet anything, or low-fat food items are foods i do not consume...
when i do indulge in something like a cheeseburger, i will go ahead and have a real Coca-Cola with it... otherwise i drink plain iced tea...
i love food and splurge good money on whole fresh ingredients...
By real Coca Cola I figger you mean Mexican Coke... (was a precious treat when I was in west Texas)
You and I have a very similar diet, actually.
I’m with you - real foods despite the “warnings of doom if you do” crowds. Never bit with the no salt/no/eggs/no fat/no sugar crap over the years. Maintain a good weight and exercise regularly. 62 and no prescription medicines needed. I have cut back a bit on carbs as I get older though - the furnace still burns but it can’t consume as many of that type calories as it used to each day.
