WHAT!? Newman ruled ineligible for Daytona 500 front row: After suffering a blown engine during today's second practice for the Daytona 500, #31-Ryan Newman must start from the rear of the field in his Budweiser Duel qualifying race on Thursday. But per NASCAR Talk's Dustin Long at Daytona, Newman has also been ruled ineligible for a front row start in the Great American Race by NASCAR because of the resulting engine change. Daytona's group qualifying session will determine the front row on the 500 grid. Thursday's Duels will help set the remainder of the field.(NBC Sports)(2-15-2015)

Harvick confronts Logano for late tap: #4-Kevin Harvick and #22-Joey Logano traded heated words following the Sprint Unlimited after Logano got into the back of Harvick's car with two laps remaining. The two drivers were nose to nose (Harvick still having his helmet on) after they had gotten out of their cars following the 75-lap exhibition event at Daytona International Speedway. At one point, Logano appeared to lunge toward Harvick before they were separated and returned to their cars. "He's just Kevin," Logano said. "He's an instigator, right? It's the same thing he is every other time he talks to someone. It's the same old crap. It just happens all the time. It's no big deal." Harvick was upset because he felt Logano's move was silly. "He thinks he was helping, but you can't just drive somebody straight in the corner into the fence," said Harvick, the 2014 Sprint Cup champion. "He kind of did the same thing to me at Talladega. I told him, 'The karma train is coming after you.' And it bit him right in the [butt]. ... I just didn't appreciate just getting straight drove into the wall." Logano finished sixth; Harvick was 11th.(
