There are $26 trillion floating in Euro-based derivatives. Perhaps that’s where the 26-T figure comes from.

‘To save the banks’ has a familiar ring. How many times in the past couple of hundred of years have those words impacted the lives of nations and individuals in the western hemisphere? My thinking is that such thoughts have actually led to revolutions and global wars. There is a root cause which just has to be acknowledged and cleared from the nations.

The US has a GDP of $17T and debt of $17.8T
The EU has a GDP of $17T and debt of $13.9T It's worse than that. Add to that state and local government debt.

Russia was unable to bail Cyprus out a few years ago despite many of its Oligarchs with large deposits in the Cyprus banking system. I doubt today with its foreign currency reserves diving it is in a position to bail out Greece.

If Russia will act today then we’ll throw in Cuba as a bonus!

Expect a flood of immigrants from Europe?
White Europeans or Muslims? I doubt Obama would let in many whites.
Also, what does Russia have to offer Greece besides Rubles? What good is a Ruble?

...expect a flood of immigrants from Europe. Take a deep breath. Not likely. This is not the 1920s. I would expect an influx of capital however, which would be marginally good for us. WW III is not in the cards either. It takes two to make the fight.

It's worse than that. Add to that state and local government debt. Right. That amounts to ~$3T more.

“This would lead to the unthinkable: should Greece pivot to Russia it would permit Putin to build Russian bases on NATO soil!”
It’s called a POWER VACUUM. People here want us out of Europe...so Russia or China move in.
Happy now?
