This isn't about perfection. Every news outlet gets a story wrong sometimes. In the rush to get the scoop, sometimes all the facts are not quite factual, and so it is that you see a retraction the next day of whatever aspect they got wrong.

What Williams did was to lie about his first person account for years and years. That's not merely an imperfection. It's willful, unabated deceit, and it shows the corruption, not only of his character, but of those in the know at NBC in general.

Scarborough's waving of the "imperfection" flag is so disingenuous that his own moral decrepitude is apparent.

Correct. When newscasters report the news they are doing nothing less than the head of this administration and reading a teleprompter. However, what is said away from the teleprompter is what is being judged.
