Newtown activists on Thursday helped introduce the first gun safety bill in this Congress, officially kicking off the gun control debate on Capitol Hill.
The bill would ban large capacity ammunition clips for everyone but military members and law enforcement officers. It was introduced by Rep. Elizabeth Esty, D-5th District, in the House and Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., in the Senate.
Sorry. Here’s the link to the “messaging” guide booklet.

I don’t use clips, just magazines, so this does not affect me. Still, it’s unconstitutional. This bill must be stopped by any means necessary.
As you well know...banning something and actually getting compliance with said ban are two entirely different things.
Exactly.
There are probably a minimum of 10 million 30-rd. mags out there. Who are they going to send around to confiscate them? David Gregory?
(Expect the number of boating accidents to skyrocket).
As the governors of NY and CT have found. Compliance is so bad in NY that no real data can be found.
This bill will be dead on arrival.
It’s going nowhere.
My question is what is the ratio of home invasions by two or more thugs and Newtown type incidents.
Ask them how many times they see a group of cops requiring more than 10 rounds to bring down a perp.
