Intuit Inc. announced that its software Turbo Tax has resumed e-filing of state income tax returns Friday afternoon.
The company had temporarily suspended e-filing in all states over concerns of fraud after two Minnesota users reported that someone had already filed in their name.

Why is TT punishing the rest of us by stopping state filing because of some fraudsters theyve noticed? Its the job of the IRS to deal with fraudsters, not TT (unless TT itself is somehow responsible for the fraud).
BTW, IM SO glad I took H&R Block up on their offer for free H&R Deluxe for TT customers POed that Intuit secretly gutted TT Deluxe this year! H&R Block Deluxe installs faster (without ANY permanent updater/anti-piracy background services clogging up my PC forever like TT does), runs faster, has a cleaner, less cluttered interface, less BS up-selling popups, and in general is less annoying than TT. Im going to take my unopened TT Deluxe back to Costco and get my fifty bucks back and NEVER going back to TT!
Good to see someone else who did that. Last year I could use Turbo Tax Basic even though I get a K-1 and had to file a schedule E. This year I would have had to jump over Deluxe to Ultimate. Instead I just went to H&R Block.
The IRS doesn't care who it gets its money from - if you have been ripped off by identity theft, they will put the burden on you to prove and recoup.
“Last year I could use Turbo Tax Basic”
I’ve used TT for 20 years, but this last move was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Intuit’s greed and duplicity this year was a bridge too far. I’ll never go back.
How does H&R Block handle loading last years return for reference, if you used TT before?

It loaded and utilized all of the data in my 2013 TT file just fine.
Along with most of the country I’m sitting down today to try to prepare my taxes on Turbotax. I cannot log in. I feel like I’m trying to sign up for Obamacare.
