Congressman Aaron Schock (R, IL) is under fire for remodeling his office in a garish Downton Abbey-styled decor. But his taste in decor isn’t the only thing gaining criticism. Ethics watchdogs have charged that he improperly accepted free services from a decorator in the deal.
Recently, in response to the all the criticism, Schock said, “As Taylor Swift said, ‘Haters are gonna hate.'”
The story about the Congressman’s redecorating was first reported by the Washington Post’s Ben Terris, who described the the decor as “Bright red walls. A gold-colored wall sconce with black candles. A Federal-style bull’s-eye mirror with an eagle perched on top.”

Kinzinger was OK for his 1st 6months..they he started believing in the inside-the-beltway-mentality.

Both of these guys are a huge, huge disappointment. They are both very young guys that I would have thought would be good for the image of the party...but they both quickly just started doing inside-the-beltway as you said - seeming to go purely for the ambition of doing things that will get them the good committee assignments, favorable press, etc. - advancement in the political structure rather than having any principle.

That's what I hear from friends in Peoria and they support him. It seems to be sort of a purplish area that has become increasingly blue. That would rather have a gay "moderate" than a union socialist.
