"Isaiah 17:1 “Woe to Damascus. It has been taking away from being a city, it has become a ruinous heap."

At least that means they're used to it ... < /s >

Well .. maybe this will put it in proper perspective:

When Isaiah 17:1 was prophesied, Damascus was probably the only large city in most of that area, except maybe for Cairo, etc. That means it’s possible it was more than just the “city” of Damascus that was included in the prophesy.

The comment I heard, mentioned this action to destroy Damascus as monumental .. and the whole world was enraged over it. As a result of that .. the scripture in Ezekiel 36-38 says that all the nations from the “north” gathered together to go after the attacker and get rid of them once and for all.

I’d say that event has to be more than just one city.

And .. a correction: It should read - “It has been taken away from being a city, ...”
