When you say “Jordan” ... that’s a reference to the official stance of a country, which is determined by who is in power - in this case, the “King of Jordan”.
It’s like when one says “the USA is negotiating with Iran on their nuclear program ...” which means the government (which is the Obama Administration right now) and not what the Tea Party position is, or the position of the GOP ... and so on.

BTW, I trust none no one in the Mideast. Our founders were wise people and warned to stay out of foreign entanglements. And the more we tangle, the worse it gets and only seems to escalate.
Like most of us knew the minute we pulled out of Iraq things would go belly up, regardless of how many years, bodies and trillions we spent there. The people in that part of the world never got along with each other, and never will.
