That's good - really good.
Ding, ding, ding ... we have a thread winnah!
In 1977 or so, I was hired as the Payroll Supervisor of a very large company that was agricultural based. Many of those on payroll were from south of the border—either recently or a number of years.
When I got new W-4 forms, I checked them very carefully. I got a number of W-4 forms with applications that said the person was 18—and that they were single & claiming 9 exemptions. With the amount of hourly pay, those 9 exemptions would have NOT had any Federal income tax taken out of their paycheck.
I called the ranch foreman/manager & asked how a single person of 19 could have 9 exemptions. Got info that he was sending money back to Mexico every week- mother-sister-brother-grandparents.
Since the IRS code states clearly that a person cannot claim exemptions for family that does NOT live in the USA, and this male did not have any family here in the USA, I told the ranch manager that his payroll would be inserted as Single- 1 exemption. Even then there was very little in Federal income tax taken out of his check, and NO state income tax.
Then I told the whole company of ranch managers that effective the first of the new year, I needed a NEW W-4 from every single one of the 750 ++ employees. IRS guidelines call for such being perfectly legal.
What an amazing number of young people were claiming 9 exemptions. You should have heard the hollering.
They don’t play by the book. Also- when they get bounced from a job with the last name of Gomez-Alvarado, they re-appear shortly thereafter with the name of Alvarado-Gomez. Over & Over again.
There is so much flim-flam happening in the employment of illegals, it would make you sick.
“The EITC isnt the only tax credit to be ensnared in the immigration debate. The IRS already pays out billions of dollars a year to illegal immigrants under a program known as the additional child tax credit.
The IRS says the law is vague on who is eligible for the child credit, so to be on the safe side they pay it out to illegal immigrants.
Backers argue that the children claimed for the child tax credit are likely U.S. citizens, even if their parents are here illegally, and so it would be unfair to strip the money.”
Total lie that they are likely U.S. citizens. There was an expose’ on the illegals claiming kids that live in Mexico, some claiming 16 kids lived in the same trailer, the video interviewed that illegal. Over 4 billion each year given to illegals for the child tax credit. Now Obama wants to increase the credit to $3,000! Probably for the illegals benefit.
