Sheriff Justin Smith had to deal with five forest fires in his county in his first year in office, 2012. The biggest one consumed 87,000 acres of forest in less than a week and was only about 15 miles west of the biggest city in the county, Ft. Collins. (FWIW the wind blows from west to east.)

The following year he dealt with the so-called Thousand Year Flood which wiped out every canyon road in the county and swept on down the Poudre and Big Thompson drainages across the plains portions of Larimer cty taking out bridges and roads as it went.

He did a fantastic job of handling all of these crises which included procuring and coordinating a number of Federal fire and flood task forces respectively.

He had to compete for fire mitigation resources as there were three or four other fires of similar size in the state at the same time. There is no way any county could afford the equipment, manpower or expertise required to deal with fires or floods of the magnitude we had here.

I'll take a whore like him over a pimp like you any day.

The curse known as Obama will be with us for another two years. The curse of amnesty will be with us forever.
