Me too. I had both kinds of measles, mumps and chicken pox. So did both my sisters and all my friends. Nobody died that we ever knew of.

Some vaccines like small pox, polio and whooping cough are good and some are unnecessary but the government has brainwashed most people into vaccinating their kids for everything.

The current outbreak of measles is traced to Disneyland in CA. So much for your theory.

Children don’t get their full round of vaccines until they’re one year old, so infants are susceptible.

You can choose to believe 100 years of experience in the medical field, or you can choose to believe ditz brains like Rand Paul and Jenny McCarthy.

It's not the vaccine per se that's concerning, it's (A) the immunologic adjuvant and preservatives (which can be mercury-based) and (B) the push to negate any role of authority that parents exercise over their children.

So by your logic, if it happens in one rare occurrence, every human should get vaccinated? REALLY?

Why don’t you read about Gardasil. And how many young women have been killed by it. Their brains destroyed.

You just keep spouting off nonsense and second hand info and it is sad. You haven’t live it. I have. The debate is over. Go get every vaccine you can, flu, hep b, mar, tetanus, get em all....turn yourself into a petrie dish. You don’t want truth, you want to be right.

I don’t want to be right. I want truth.

We can now go our separate ways.

Amen.

The idea is to eradicate measles. Before Obastard opened the borders, measles outbreaks were unheard of.

Libs...controlling the argument as usual. Turn it around on THEM. Ask them why Obama dumped illegals around the country who I am pretty sure were NOT vaccinated for anything.

‘__________aren’t they immune from catching the measles from a non vaccinated child?’

Thanks for this point.
Now I don’t have to make it - - -
This whole debate rears it’s head every so many years.

I guess Jenny McCarthy’s name is a nice insult to throw out there to take the place of logic. Nice.

I choose to believe my own common sense and (incidentally) the CDC which admits that every vaccine carries a risk of complication and side effect.

http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm

Vaccines are not a panacea. They are not magically immune from risks and complications. They are not all for deadly diseases. And they do not necessarily confer immunity equally. They do not all have the same effect on everyone.

And because of all that it is IMPERATIVE that parents have the final say on whether to administer them or not.

But my mistake I guess...I was born in a free country and I mistakenly keep thinking it should still be that way.

Idunno about vaccines, but just for fun sometime, listen carefully to the litany of "possible side effects" of whatever pharmaceutical is being advertised, and be reminded that there are people walking around right now who take that drug and just might have those side effects.

Here's one that jumped out at me recently:

Some people have had changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions while using CHANTIX to help them quit smoking. Some people had these symptoms when they began taking CHANTIX, and others developed them after several weeks of treatment or after stopping CHANTIX. If you, your family or caregiver notice agitation, hostility, depression or changes in behavior, thinking, or mood that are not typical for you, or you develop suicidal thoughts or actions, anxiety, panic, aggression, anger, mania, abnormal sensations, hallucinations, paranoia or confusion, stop taking CHANTIX and call your doctor right away. Also tell your doctor about any history of depression or other mental health problems before taking CHANTIX, as these symptoms may worsen while taking CHANTIX....

continued

Not vaccinating against the measles is the “wrong choice” eh? Might want to check that with the CDC:

http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/mmr.html

___

“Some people should not get MMR vaccine or should wait.

Anyone who has ever had a life-threatening allergic reaction to the antibiotic neomycin, or any other component of MMR vaccine, should not get the vaccine. Tell your doctor if you have any severe allergies.
Anyone who had a life-threatening allergic reaction to a previous dose of MMR or MMRV vaccine should not get another dose.
Some people who are sick at the time the shot is scheduled may be advised to wait until they recover before getting MMR vaccine.
Pregnant women should not get MMR vaccine. Pregnant women who need the vaccine should wait until after giving birth. Women should avoid getting pregnant for 4 weeks after vaccination with MMR vaccine.
Tell your doctor if the person getting the vaccine:
Has HIV/AIDS, or another disease that affects the immune system
Is being treated with drugs that affect the immune system, such as steroids
Has any kind of cancer
Is being treated for cancer with radiation or drugs
Has ever had a low platelet count (a blood disorder)
Has gotten another vaccine within the past 4 weeks
Has recently had a transfusion or received other blood products

Any of these might be a reason to not get the vaccine, or delay vaccination until later.”

I applaude you...vaccines have many problems and the system is not designed to screen for possible individual weaknesses to the vaccine and nutrition deficiencies, that if corrected, would serve as a viable and safer substitute. Vaccines do pose serious dangers and have not been properly tested.

‘__________that were waning in virulence.’

Due in large part to improved hygiene, sanitation, clean water (NO FLUORIDE), eating better, with better food - which improves the immune system - - - which keeps disease at bay - -
Okay - some exercise. And prayer.

Some of us believe since we are the care takers of our bodies, we should take BETTER care of ourselves, and not count on a vaccine to ( maybe, hopefully) do it.
Also, there are homeopathic products for building the immune system.

If one doesn’t want to take the time to research, then, by all means, submit yourself to traditional vaccinations, and hope/pray for the best.

(And now I’m about to make chicken soup - from scratch - serious)!

Private schools may or may not have that restrictions. But whoever runs the schools gets to make the rules about how kids who attend must do things, whether it’s uniforms or vaccines.

Where does parental control (as opposed to governmental control) come into this equation?

I have lived this horror with my second son

But all the "experts" say that isn't possible.

The Amish at the market in my neighborhood use plenty of modern technology, at least at work. And they come down from Lancaster County in ten-passenger vans. Apparently, at least the more “modern” ones are allowed to ride in cars, but not drive them.

I must say, they have some good looking women.

I didn’t get mumps, but I had measles and chicken pox. They’re bad things and you’re pretty ill when you have them, but they’re not fatal, unless they’ve gotten much stronger since I was a kid.
