“I am not supporting Rubio, but I understand he had a leadership role in the FL state senate, and was able in working it.”
Leadership in a legislative role is very different than leading a huge organization. John Kerry and Harry Reid have leadership experience in a legislative body. It doesn’t mean they have the management leadership skills to manage the federal government.
One of the issues we have with Obama and his team is a complete lack of organization management skills. Accountability and objective performance standards are key tools of executive management.
“Sounds like an endorsement for Walker?”
Walker, Bush, Huckabee, and the recently departed Romney all have executive management experience running organizations. Graham, Rubio and Carson do not. Of course George W. Bush had executive experience as governor of Texas yet he didn’t even try to take on the bureaucracy or make tough spending choices to balance the nation’s books.
The George W. Bush fiasco demonstrates that executive experience doesn’t always equate to administrative competence. Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” philosophy resulted in him being fiscally irresponsible. He just couldn’t find a bill to veto. Better to pile up debt on future generations than experience the wrath of the press and the Democrats for being unkind to the poor.
Walker is the only one I’ve seen demonstrate an ability to make hard choices, tack the flack, and persevere. The others talk a game but have never been tested. This includes the Bush brother who was a reasonably good governor in Florida but never had to walk directly into the liberal buzz saw on a matter of principle. He even dodged the Terry Schaivo issue.
At this point in the game I am for no one. We are a year away from the primary season. A lot can happen. Who knows, maybe Bush will flame out, and Romney will return. Trump may throw his hat in the ring. McCain might even decide to run again. Even Palin might get the bug and mount an aggressive campaign.
This birther garbage was cooked up long after the founders were dead.
Why not stick to opposing him on policy and leadership, rather than nonsense? Based on his record, he doesn’t jump up as someone I would want to promote to President.
I really don’t think Rubio has any idea what throwing in with Schumer and McCain did to his presidential chances.
