HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Their children have been sent home from school. Their families are barred from birthday parties and neighborhood play dates. Online, people call them negligent and criminal. And as officials in 14 states grapple to contain a spreading measles outbreak that began near here at Disneyland, the parents at the heart of America’s anti-vaccine movement are being blamed for incubating an otherwise preventable public-health crisis.
Measles anxiety rippled thousands of miles beyond its center on Friday as officials scrambled to try to contain a wider spread of the highly contagious disease — which America declared vanquished 15 years ago, before a statistically significant number of parents started refusing to vaccinate their children. In recent days, new measles cases popped up in Nebraska and Minnesota, New York and Marin County in California. Officials around the country reported rising numbers of patients who were seeking shots, as well as some pediatricians who were accepting non-vaccinated families but were debating changing their policies. My kids, all vaccinated are fully grown and all my grandchildren are also vaccinated...we are dealing here with educated responsible adults. My worries are for those like lukemia survivors, kids with immune systems that aren't up to par, kids who have allergies to the ingrediants in a shot, kids too young to be vaccinated...any number of others that WE SHOULD ALL BE CONCERNED ABOUT...and that includes you...
The vaccination rates in Mexico don’t have much to do with the current outbreaks. At lot of those kids come from further south and pass through Mexico on their way to El Norte. They are most likely not vaccinated and are bringing the diseases with them.
Yup. Sure, the pharma cartel were "co-opted" by the establishment back in the 50's when they were vaccinating children agains polio, small pox, etc., and those diseases have been dormant for decades. Yup. It's all a conspiracy.
GOOD IDEA...however, what if I'm exposed, my clothing is exposed, whatever...measles is HIGHLY contageous...don't I get to go home, and how do I know for sure whether or not I've been exposed...there are days before and after symptoms that people are contageous....oh well, I guess I'll never see my kids again because some peopple are too damned stubborn to recognize reality when it hits them in the fact....
I read where the Health Dept said this recent outbreak is caused from someone coming in from overseas. I guess they consider Central America overseas, now.
To be blunt - you are ill-informed. Congress granted immunity from lawsuit to vaccine companies and created a special vaccine court for a reason - there are negative and even lethal reactions to their products, but the Feds deemed the widespread benefits to outweigh the costs to individuals.
As an individual, however, you have the right to not let someone jab you with aborted fetal tissue, poisons, and questionably neutralized viruses. Especially if you have a family history of reactions. The genetic link is not to autism, it’s to the reaction to the contents of the vaccines, which is known but hushed up since testing folks for it might make them ask too many questions.
But if you believe the same folks who insist man-made climate change is real, so be it.
They are obviously counting on our unquestioning devotion to mask the inconsistencies.

You posit an opinion and don’t want any opposing opinion.
It is you who lack logic - you post to a public forum declaring your opinion and saying you don’t want any other opinion - on a site where peoples opinion is the who purpose of the site!
You’ve lost your argument when you have to get so ugly personally. Look at the CDC site, it’s all there.
We’ve had more kids than that dying of the flu, just in Oklahoma alone, this flu season.
I got hammered so bad with the flu, the last few weeks, I’m going for the flu shot next year ... even though I’ve never had one in my life. I was almost dead from it, these last few weeks. Fortunately I survived by the skin of my teeth ... :-) ...

You are correct, we all have personal health histories and influences that help us decide. There are also long term risk/financial/health issues with side effects from vaccinations. They aren’t made up, and side effects are clearly listed on the vaccination package inserts.
I’m all for informed consent, if, after doing the research you feel it’s the best for your family to vaccinate - that’s your choice as a parent.
I feel differently, and that’s my choice as a parent.
But you can see on this thread how rude and personal people get because of the informed choices I make for my family. I’m consistently surprised that on a forum that most people are not for government intrusion, they are ok with this particular intrusion.
I almost died from the measles and my SIL has had life-long effects from the measles. My mother almost died when she had measles at 40. I had an uncle and a friend crippled by polio. I remember several babies dying of Diphtheria. These were all people I knew, we didn't have 24/7 news at the time. Less than five years ago a friend of ours got Chicken Pox from his children and almost died when his brain swelled. He lost his business because of being out of commission for over a month. It was inevitable that this would happen, not just because of the illegals but because global travel has also increased at the same time as vaccination has waned. It really isn't fear mongering when the effects of the disease are potentially deadly or crippling. I know that medicine in general has also advanced and those chances of death and crippling are much less likely than when I was a child. After having had Shingles I would surely immunize my kids against Chicken Pox I would never want them to hurt that bad.
Actually, as I mentioned, I was talking specifically about the 50’s and 60’s, when as scared as everyone was of polio, measles was killing twice as many people.
But there seems to be quite a few cases ‘in the wild’ as shown here.

Are you saying we should no longer vaccinated for polio? If so, how long do you think it would be before someone from the Mideast started an epidemic here.
The original source, while being of interest to those doing research, is irrelevant when discussing the spread of ebola which, as we all know is by direct contact with bodily fluids of an ebola infected person....and most never ate a bat.
What I think exposes the fallacy of vaccines is these people are so certain tellign us the vaccines will protect us, but that it isn’t enough that THEY get the vaccine, WE have to have it for THEIR safety.
It is nuts. The whole herd immunity thing is bs. If the vaccine works and you have it, it makes no difference to you whether I get it or not.
Let’s talk about the un-naturalness of injecting things deep into the body, bypassing the multiple layers of defense the body has, including sweat, the skin, localized attempts to deal with it via the lymphatic system. Fact is what they are doing is abnormal and bypassing many layers of defense.
Let’s talk about how nuts these people get about their kids and exposure to mercury. They have no problem with a doctor shooting vaccines with thimerosal in them, which is 50% mercury.
Lets talk about the fact that the vaccine schedule has exploded the last 40 years. from maybe 9 shots through grade school to 40-50 shots - being conservative - with many being done before the child is even 2 years old. But all that mercury and all the combined vaccines have nothing to do with the problems we see in kids at a record rate. They ignore the big pharma reason right in front of their faces because it’s a multibillion dollar a year moneymaker for vaccine makers. So much so they even beg media to tell people to get flu shots even if they screw up guessing about most of the strains. Can’t piss away that year’s profits.
