The deputy leader of right-wing populist party Alternative for Germany (AfD) said on Wednesday that all migration from Arab countries should be stopped.
"We should no longer support immigration by people who are totally foreign to our cultural tradition, in fact we ought to block it," Alexander Gauland told Berlin's Tagesspiegel newspaper.
"There are cultural traditions that have a very hard time integrating here ... those cultural traditions are at home in the Middle East," Gauland said.
He added that there was a danger of "parallel societies" developing in Germany "with which we won't be able to cope with in the end."
And he continued his push to bring AfD closer to anti-Islam movement Pegida by describing it as a “people's movement” comparable with the early anti-nuclear demonstrations that helped launch the Green party.
The majority of Pegida participants were not racists, but “completely normal people," he said.
Gauland, a 73-year-old from Saxony, is seen as the voice of the growing nationalist-conservative wing of AfD, which originally began as a movement almost exclusively campaigning against the Euro single currency.
He believes that mainstream centre-right party the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) will soon find itself in difficulty over Chancellor Angela Merkel's declaration that “Islam belongs to Germany” - and that his party will be there to pick up its lost voters.
“The Chancellor's words were deadly for ordinary CDU members”, Gauland said.
We here in the USA should have this here, too.
They want the whole non-Middle Eastern world to adapt to THEM.
Imagine yodeling around in Mecca with a goat and coils of mountaineering rope in Leiderhosen.
It’s ridiculous and this has to stop.
Wander around with a goat in those parts and you may be mistaken for a delivery agent for a mail-order bride service.
Germany makes a smart move. They “get” it.

Germany had to bring in Turks when the Soviet Union walled off their relatives in the DDR.
Now that Germany is unified and eastern European countries are no longer behind the Iron Curtain, there is no reason to have a populace in their midst that is a nacent threat.
The problem is that - like America - official multiculturalism prevents them from just drop kicking the Turks back home. And also compels Merkel to make cooing noises.
YOuare too late, Deutschland. You have imported critical mass already. They will outpopulate the humans in Germany in due time. You have to prevent any more coming in and prevent any of those already in from staying.
Germany is barely on the fringes of “getting it.” There is a lot more getting it to be got before they are facing the sun again.

It is a fun to see the former East Germany went ‘right-wing’ with all their anti-immigrant rallies and stuff while the Western part is all into diversity, tolerance and other ‘merits’ of classic liberal leftism.
