1 Timothy 6:10
The verse refers to love of money, not money itself.
Try Matthew 25:14-30. Fault lies in not being a good steward of money held for another, and increasing it, not in the money itself.
In fact, this passage has another interesting point. The faithful servants traded with their talents, doubling them. This is different than the third servant who did not even put the money with bankers at a minimum earning interest on it.
There is a very sophisticated recognition of the economic fact that trading with their money would produce a higher return than just depositing it.
