My guess is that during the vetting process some “stuff” popped up. So, she was quietly “asked” to withdraw.

She was Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff and was one on the staffers in the White House who was involved in pardongate, corresponding with a Puerto Rican FALN terrorist leader, Luis Neives Falcon, to try to arrange pardons for quite a number of FALN terrorists. She was also a lobbyist for Clinton.
