Rush Limbaugh’s recent assertion that Politico is the “go-to inside the Beltway publication for Republican establishment leaks” is proving true again.
In a featured story that relied upon an anonymous “Republican staffer familiar with the meeting,” Politico reported:
Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, the No. 3 House Republican, is laying plans to boot lawmakers from the leadership’s elite vote-counting team if they oppose party-line procedural motions. That might sound like insignificant inside baseball, but it’s a critical development — and yet another sign that top Republicans are looking to ostracize troublemakers in the Capitol.
On his nationally syndicated radio show last week, Limbaugh predicted stories like this would continue to flow from Politico during the current session of Congress:
The reason I cite The Politico is, remember, The Politico I have deduced is the go-to inside-the-Beltway publication for Republican establishment leaks.
If the Republican establishment is gonna leak and if they want to get some news out, I have discovered The Politico is where they go.
The establishment newspaper based its story on two sources: the anonymous “Republican staffer familiar with the meeting” who told Politico “[p]art of being on the whip team is abiding by the rules of the club.”
Politico’s other source, the only one who went on-the-record, was Moira Smith, “a spokesperson for Scalise’s office.” She told Politico “[we] talk about organizational issues within the whip team.”

Politico will publish anything negative about the right due solely to their blind hatred of the right. Sometimes they find egg on their face.
If true and if they keep this crap up, the Republican party will be a thing of the past.
Decent people will form a party to replace it.
Another reason we are losing this battle.
Expose the leak. Who wrote the article? Who edited the article?
Answer those questions. Then answer the following: Who are their close friends, close coworkers?
Rule them out one by one.
Expose the mole.
The lawful cannot beat the lawless by following the rules all the time. Especially when the lawless are willing to bend them, hide behind them. Yes, even commit murder to coverup their crimes. Then they point the finger, and all their puppets fingers.
No more of this chickens*t 'staffer' crap. Its the congressmen that calls the shots.
There aren't enough decent people left in America to do that.
They are a thing of the past.

“troublemakers” = Conservatives. Conservatives are making it difficult for republicans to achieve the same goals as the democrats. I’m kind of paraphrasing the late Republican Senator Everett Dirksen of Il.
The Whip Team has always been required to vote Party Line- to lead by example. There have always been rare exceptions allowed though.
I think the intent of the leak is either to force Scalise to be even more obedient to Boehner and McCarthy, or even to force him out.
Like many Reps from conservative districts he can not get re-elected following Boehner’s Speakership. He’ll be successfully primaried like Cantor.
That’s why Cantor’s loss was such a ‘big deal’ to DC. A Speaker’s first and foremost job is to get his caucus members re-elected!
I believe the “anonymous leaks” were most likely ordered by boehner.

The week after the election I got the same message in an e-mail letter from my Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R) Ms. That e-mail burned me up, I don’t know anyone including establishment republicans that voted to just get along. Nunnelee has supported boehner and the gop-e at every turn. I didn’t call his office as I usually do. He has had serious health issues for the last year and i kind of laid off since he wasn’t voting anyway. I did call and asked his staff that he not vote for boehner but found out later that he had been hospitalized and didn’t vote. Tuesday I was told he won’t be going back.
It was a real shame that scandal did not drive him out.
He is utterly corrupt Bonehead K street Viper.
Free Republic and other sites of its same nature are starting to turn the tide against the Republican Establishment.
Take this issue for instance. Before Free Republic existed staffers and aides were able to use media outlets without any repercussions. Very few would have know that Politico was being used by the Republican Establishment to disparage conservatives who will not play the game that has been established in Washington D.C.. Politico and other sites have always been used by politicians to attack their enemies without having to worry about being exposed. Now due to Free Republic conservatives have access to information and can share it directly without being filtered and diluted. More important is the fact that everyone, no matter their location or station in life, has the ability to research where these stories come from and who is pushing them.
I have got into the habit of researching authors and sources to find their previous employment and connections. I suggest you do it as well. You will learn it is a incestuous circle of people all with the goal of keeping everything that is wrong in Washington D.C. rolling at its optimum performance designed to profit itself and keep outsiders or any threat of change out.
The truth is its greatest enemy.
Google and Open Secrets is not a politicians friend.

The problem here is that the leakers are not doing this on their own—they are doing their bosses’ bidding. These leakers are somewhat like button men for the mob. Yes, they did the crime, but they would not have done it if it wasn’t for the person who instructed them.
