For the life of me I can't understand why conservatives make pot a morality issue.

Why not go after opioids, benzodiazepines and alcohol instead? They are far more immoral, if morality can be assigned to a substance.

Those drugs kill people EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY IN EVERY STATE OF THE UNION.

And, they are common and legal.

Oh, did I mention physically addictive? It's not uncommon for people to DIE while quitting any of the 3, from withdraw effects alone.

Interestingly, Pot could supplant some of the use of those 3 without the deadly, addictive side effects.

You are correct.
The real reason for continued criminalization of marijuana is that the government wouldn’t be able to seize all those vehicles and property without the so called war on drugs.
The idea that marijuna is so dangerous and/ or addictive that it cannot be safely taken even under the supervision of a doctor (thus a Schedule 1 Drug) is laughable.
Oh wait I forgot, it’s a gateway drug to. . . um, more dangerous drugs like cocaine which is not too dangerous to be prescribed.
Is that confusing to anyone else?
