There is no explanation of the utter incompetence exhibited in the video. The cop failed big time. This should have been a real simple arrest.

The ding is dead because he failed to follow basic procedure, which should have been routinely done to ensure the safety of *both* the cop and the suspect.

That was one strange video. The blab being put out by the police is that she went after all three officers, but from what I could see, the second officer had his hand on her arm, while he was talking to her, and trying to defuse the situation.

She lunged at the guy who was much farther away, totally ignoring as a target the guy who was right next to her.

That doesn't make any sense.

I would agree with that.

I’m not a cop, but for the sake of discussion if I was, I would have certainly cuffed her and then searched her.

A cop can detain a person and cuff them while they investigate without actually making an arrest, so I would think that should have been done.
