Well, I will say that I am going on the assumption that the police are telling the truth.

It is an assumption on my part, and could later prove to be wrong, so time will tell on that.

I do tend to give officers the benefit of the doubt, I believe that they are better men than me, and I have respect for them.

But I am also aware that there are bad apples out there, so hopefully that is not the case here.

I'm not a traffic-court judge, so I don't go on the assumption that the police are telling the truth. :)

Well, most of them may be twice the man that you are - hence the arrest of Captain Ahab for loitering and stalking.
