I remember it; I had family and friends affected by it in NJ and NY. Some areas still aren’t repaired. That’s kind of damage to be expected when you live along a sea level shore or on an island, and a Cat-2 storm comes ashore. But lining-up at stores during the height of the storm is just crazy. Those who didn’t leave before it hit weren’t thinking clearly. And they had plenty of advance warning.

Most people at the Shore did leave. I’m about ten minutes from the ocean (I have a house there) in an elevated part of Monmouth County. My house wasn’t hurt but we lost power for two weeks. Actually, I don’t really remember crowds at the supermarkets - I remember that I had to use the Red Cross for my laundry and that was a disaster!
