Let's just take that first number against H3N2. Sixty-five percent? That's the general rate of vaccine effectiveness? Well WOO HOO. What about the other 45%??? Sixty-five percent isn't even that high anyway considering these people are taking a shot filled with chemicals and heavy metals that bypasses their natural immune systems and all the risks that go along with that. But that 65% protection is for unvaccinated people. Check out the protection for the good little citizens who take their government-recommended flu cocktail every year: 24%. ONLY TWENTY-FOUR PERCENT. Even against flu strain B, those same vaccinated people only get 48% protection.

65%, 48% and 25% protection are a lot better than 0% protection. If people don't want to get the flu shot, then fine, that's a personal choice; but to suggest that the flue shot is worthless and of no value or benefit is an act of journalistic malpractice.

The commonly used vaccine (trivalent, inactivated influenza vaccine or TIV) covers three strains: two types of influenza A and a single influenza B strain. Protection is strain-specific, so the vaccine will generally only provide good protection against the included strains.

The the flu vaccine only works against the specific strains. If you get another strain, you're out of luck.

Here's how the flu vaccine gets made.

1. The specific strains to be included in the vaccine are selected in the Spring. By necessity, this is an educated guess to decide which strains are likely to erupt 10 months later. It is unknowable.
2. Once the strains are chosen, the vaccine manufacturers order millions of eggs to use to incubate and grow the virus.
3. The virus then then to be isolated and separated out of the eggs and deactivated.
4. Then the deactivated virus must be process and mixed with the holding medium, packaged and then distributed.
5. The vaccine then must be injected into the appropriated targeted people.

These vaccine-whiners demand perfection, anything else is complete failure and possibly a nefarious corporate plot. This is childish, ignorant, stupid and dangerous. See the Disneyland measles outbreak that is spreading like wildfire among the unvaccinated children, who are unvaccinated because their (liberal/left-wing) parents have bought into this childish nonsense.
