I was “thinking” about getting the flu shot ... and then a few days later I was sicker than a dog with the flu. I would advise people to not even “think” about the flu shot ... LOL ...
Well, this little girl got the flu shot. And later died of the same strain of vaccine flu.
I don’t know why that’s nearly impossible when there are DIFFERENT ones out there.
You can get different strains.
The second time possibly was a virus that wasn’t “influenza” per se, but it could have been a different strain thereof.
The CDC just got done admitting last week that more than 3/4ths of the people who take the shot this year are going to get the flu anyway
...
I’m going to claim that’s a misuse of statistics on behalf of the author.
Well they did say that this years flu shot is only 36 percent protection. So it doesn’t surprise me that some may not be protected like other years. I get the shot every year but I bet many won’t bother next year after hearing what happened this year.
And I just about died by NOT getting the flu shot ... so I don’t know which “dying” is better.
There are ALSO stories out there with kids dying and not having the flu shot. There are already a bunch of dead adults and kids in Oklahoma from the flu. One way or another “the flu kills”.
It took some nagging to get the family ped to admit that their ‘concern’ for kids may have had more to do with monetary remuneration.
It was confirmed by a ped specialist who is a family friend. His kids after the second, who seized on the table literally 1m after his first DTaP shot (which the nurse tried to tell him was the baby ‘stretching’ and they sometimes ‘did that after getting a shot) are all unvaccinated. The kid that seized after his vaccine is autistic. I’m sure that’s a coincidence. Said MD had to homeschool his brood of 8 kids to avoid the mandatory schedule in this state. A surprising number of the homeschoolers in this state are MD’s kids for that reason.
Until the very enlightening conversation with the ped specialist I had no idea that ANY MD’s didn’t totally vax their kids. Having discussed this with a few more I’ve come to the conclusion that the ped practices use the 5% ‘waiver’ for their kids and families.
“She could have had it already.”
I agree. Besides, it takes several days to two weeks for the vaccine to enable one’s system to produce enough antibodies to be effective.
I almost died from a blood pressure drop after being withdrawn from Prednisone too quickly after pneumonia. I personally will never take it again even though it is the going thing now to give for these kinds of illnesses. That’s why I think everyone should have the right to pick their poison(or not).
The flu shot didn’t work.
It wouldn’t have made any difference.
Have you had your vitamin d3 levels checked?
Probably not or it would be very mild. The vaccine is not a guarantee. It should create sufficient antibodies but they can’t test every dose. If you get one every year, your chances get much better. That’s why I get one every year (plus it is free and I am cheap).
The new strains are a problem because they are hard to predict. The Hong Kong Flu(1997) leaped over from birds, killing a child in Hong Kong. Swine Flu came over from pigs.
I was in the military 24 years and was happy to get the flu shot because we travel all over the World and it does keep us protected. I continue to get it every year and have not gotten the flu ever. A minor cold is the most I have ever gotten from 18-45 so far. I think flu shots work....although this year they messed up and didn’t provide a very good vaccine. However, I guarantee next year they will fix what went wrong this year. I am a big vaccine believer and wished that we all were given the chicken pox vaccine when we were kids....for no other reason that we would not get shingles when we are older....I heard that is the worst thing on earth and a simple vaccine could have been so beneficial for so many people.
The chances are getting two are possible but not usual. Otherwise, doctors would be sick all the time. The dr in my Bible Study was vaccinated and still got the flu but he was inundated with sick patients. Law of averages catches up to you after a while.
BTW I got the flu vaccine one year and still got the flu. But a dose of Tamiflu and I was fine in a couple of days. The people I knew who rode it out had problems for months.
Note; In the Spring of 1918, the Spanish Flu appeared but it wasn’t fatal and died off when flu season ended. When the Fall flu season began, it wiped out entire villages.
I was looking into it before, but in the meantime, I’ve had blood work that checks for a broad range of problems ... several times ... since I’m in an age bracket that makes it more relevant.
And, in that little girl’s case, if the vaccine didn’t make any difference ... she would have been dead without it, too.
They said no such thing. LOL
This is the book I am reading now. It’s kinda wonky but good.
Flu : the story of the great influenza pandemic of 1918 and the search for the virus that caused it / Gina Kolata.
Maybe not.
Read the publication toward the end of the original post.
As it turns out, having flu shots several years in a row might attenuate your immune response to subsequent flu exposures.
And read my oxfordjournals link as well.
Btw, sometimes you have to specifically ask to have d3 tested. It depends on the practice. And there is a wide range of ‘normal’ for d3. And if you do supplement with d3, look into K2 as well, they work together. We try to get ours from egg yolks, gouda cheese and grass fed butter.
I can see the reason for the required anthrax, small pox, and other diseases for deployments. I’m against the recent requirement for annual flu shots. If you want to have them, good for you... but if you don’t want an annual unnecessary shot you are out of luck. I think it’s the government arranging contacts with a pharmaceutical company. As a result I’m forced to have that unnecessary crap injected into my body every year... twice when they lose vaccination documentation.
