Government yesterday vowed to grab all farms owned by the remaining white former commercial farmers and ruled out joint ventures involving whites.
Addressing chiefs during the handover of A2 (small-scale commercial farm) offer letters to traditional leaders in Mashonaland East province yesterday, Provincial Affairs minister Joel Biggie Matiza said government’s new land policy was set to benefit diplomats, chiefs, war veterans, civil servants and others who missed out at the launch of the land reform program in 2000 because of rampant corruption.
Speaking at the same occasion, Lands and Rural Resettlement minister Douglas Mombeshora also said government would not allow contract farming arrangements where the indigenous farm owners would get only 10% of total produce while their white partners grabbed the lion’s share. […]
He said white former farmers should be given 90 days to vacate their farms if the land has been allocated to a black person to avoid legal battles. …

No it is utterly wrong to salt fertile farm land; indeed a wicked crime to destroy the land of innocent future generations yet unborn. Sometimes I feel I have nothing in common with the people whose political views I am supposed to share.

Yes, that was and still is an excellent solution. Substitute New Zealand and/or Australia for the US and the farmers would be productive and hopefully enjoying the new lands they settled.
Absolutely no reason to salt the fields. The idiots that are taking over will destroy any productive land with industrial strength stupidity.

About six years ago, I was sitting and reading up on the process in Zimbabwe. The reporter picked out a region where the process had started and talked to the locals. If you had military time in service....you could put your name in and get acreage. The problem is....all you’d get is roughly five acres.
Now, you can sit and imagine the scene. Guy moves in, puts up a block house, has a wife and four kids. The best he can do with five acres is put a cow or two on it, have a small garden to feed mostly himself and family, and if lucky.....maybe have fruit/vegetables that he can sell at the local market for a small income.
So you take 500 acres and you get 50 such farmers. All they can do is feed themselves and maybe produce enough to feed another 50-odd families.
The reporter talked to the local banker who basically said that income levels had dropped by massive amounts and there simply was no money movement in the local area except for very small transactions. By his estimation, the whole country had slide down a notch and they’d only be able to feed themselves. At one point....they could have feed two or three other nations.
Politically, the small-farmer concept won votes. But in twenty years....folks will ask when they will ever get ahead, and the answer is....never.

Not necessary. The idiots who will take over the farms will not have the slightest knowledge of modern farming techniques and will ruin the farms in short order without any sabotage going on before. Salting the farms would just give all the leftist nitwits an excuse to blame whites for the destruction of the country's food system. The morons will destroy those farms by themselves without any help.
You could give them a years supply of seed, the best technical advice, and it won't make any difference. The farms will be totally ruined inside a year or two.
There are very few indigenous people left. The tribes moving down from the north killed most of them.
