I was impressed that they seem to be saving appropriately.
I beg to differ. They aren't saving eternally at all. Their Charitable Contributions total $0.00. And that's on annual gross income approaching $300,000 (the figures quoted in the article were after-tax).
19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also...24 No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money...33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6)
and
Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." (Mark 10:21)
and
This world is not my home
I'm just a-passin' through
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more!
