How do they tell what type of MLRS was firing at them?
How do they know this is Grad and Uragan and not a Smerch or a 9A52-4 Tornado?

From the rocket types, identified by the fragments, I’m sure. Different launchers use different types of rockets, different ranges, etc.

How do they know? 122mm, 220mm, 280mm, 300mm. The base of the rocket will embed into the ground. You place a compass on end and you get the direction. There will be an angle that you use to calculate the general area it came from. The reporter said that they shot the entire truck at them.
