In this case, I believe his personal hatred will get the better of him. I believe that Israel will be the more likely to support Netanyahu after what is a blatant insult to him, and to Israel.
I heard an interesting tidbit last night. In the secular state of israel, for the first time, there are a majority of Israelis who want to see the Temple rebuilt, it's at a high of 59%.
