Meh, its better to just have two rifles instead of one basteredized freak.

Here's a link to my favorite youtube gun reviewer, hickok45, and his video take on the
CMMG MK 47 Mutant.

Uuuuummmm...cant one already buy an ar platform chambered for any number of calibers? This isnt a valid selling point.

For some perverted reason, I really like the 7.62x39 round. I think these are going to be around for quite a while.

Now there's an idea; combine all of the less-than-optimal parts of the AR design (aluminum receiver, inaccessible chamber, direct impingement gas system and crank-your-neck-over ergonomics) with the not very accurate 7.62X39.
If you have lots and lots of money you're just dancing on both feet to throw away on lottery tickets, here's your rifle.
The Israelis and the Finns went the other way: they got the solid as a stove bolt/impervious to all debris, dust, rain, rocks AK action and mated it to our 5.56mm NATO. The Israelis even stole the FN CAL folding stock and made the Galil.
Now if only they had figured out a better sighting system and a less amusing/goofy safety, and maybe gravitated towards something in the 6.5mm range, just think how great that would be..

I like CMMG's little 22 AR15 conversion.

My 300 AAC Blackout chambered AR does everything the 7.62X39 does, and more. More accuracy, more choice of bullets, no need for any changes in a standard .223/5.56 NATO chambered AR other than a barrel, and in some cases, a shorter gas tube. I reload my own ammo with cases converted from .223/5.56 range brass so my shooting costs are kept low.

I have finished looking at a bunch of SHOT Show videos* (thanks to insomnia) and maybe I am suffering from "tactical rifle" overload, but I can't get real excited about the "Mutant" lineup; I'm sure plenty of people will think it is a winner.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who do not learn gun history are doomed to be misled by companies selling “innovative” guns.
Google Daewoo DR300 rifle for the 7.62X39 version.
Then ask yo sef’ why an American didn’t develop it instead of a South Korean!
