The head of the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records said he plans on being at work Friday morning despite having his security pass taken away and being fired by Gov. Tom Wolf.

Erik Arneson, who was appointed as executive director by Gov. Tom Corbett, was met by an attorney from the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development on Thursday. Arneson said his security pass, office key and state-provided vehicle was taken from him.

But that's not going to stop him from being in his office Friday morning.

"[Wolf] doesn't have the authority to do it," Arneson said. "It's an unfortunate distraction. I'll be back at 9 a.m. tomorrow to do my job to the best I can. I'll just keep plugging away."

Just a couple of days in office and there is controversy. His term in office will not end well for the state of Pennsylvania.

If a governor appointed him, and a governor fired him...it’d be curious to hear this guy who explain who can terminate his services. You have to be responsible to someone of authority....who is it?

The position is supposed to be independent and run for 6 years. That way influence from incoming administrations is theoretically reduced.

Well...then the outgoing guy would hire some ‘thug’ to bother the incoming guy? Maybe on paper...it’d work, but I can’t see the real world operating so cleanly.

The same new Dhimmicrat governor who will not allow Yuengling Beer at state functions, because of its ‘right to work’ stance

Do they still make Schmidt’s beer? In the 70s in my 20s at
99 cents a six pack, this swill was what I could afford. And it was swill.

I think they started making Schmidt's at some brewery (and I use that term loosely)in the mid-west or New York State. Guinness has bought out the Gennesee brewery, I think, and started making Guiness Lager.

Over the years I have noted the collective insanity of people from Pa. and, as usual, you can only attribute it to the water or things ingested made with it!

Mostly the southeast (Philly) and the urban core of Pittsburgh. The rest of the state is the Republican “T” but the urban core has us mostly outnumbered.

Wolfe wouldn’t be governor if it wasn’t for Corbett running an incompetent campaign and raising the gas tax another 28 cents. That is perhaps the most regressive tax there is. He portrayed it as being needed for roads and bridges but the vast majority of the money is likely to end up shoring up the pension funds of PAT and SEPTA. Two cesspools of affirmative action, patronage, nepotism and featherbedded incompetence.

Wolfe has to deal with a Republican legislature. Granted what passes for a Republican in this state is moderate at best and politically incompetent but they know which way to vote most of the time.
