Up until recently I lived on the Canadian Border and there would be joint remembrance ceremonies for 9/11. The Canadians always make us look bad, RCMP, local constabulary and firemen all marching to the border in dress uniform that put us to shame.
A little pomp and ceremony is good for the spirit. It displays fortitude and sense of mission that most of the population don't get.

A little pomp and ceremony is good for the spirit. It displays fortitude and sense of mission that most of the population don't get. The leftists have been slowly purging any military presence here in the Bay Area for decades, from base closures to eliminating any martial aspects to parades, sporting events, even minimizing fleet week.
I envy countries who still value the ceremony & shows of strength you referred to.

The RCMP always look fantastic in their dress uniforms.I wish our police would take the time and effort to look that good.
