Founded by Emmy-winning producer Kevin Wall, in partnership with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Live Earth was built upon the belief that entertainment has the power to transcend social and cultural barriers to move the world community to action. A for-profit company, Live Earth seeks to leverage the power of entertainment through integrated events, media, and the live experience to ignite a global movement aimed at solving the most critical environmental issues of our time.[1]

Beneficiaries[edit]
All donations raised by the Dow Live Earth Run for Water will be disseminated to fund sustainable and scalable water programs. A growing global network of NGO partners including Global Water Challenge, A Child’s Right, Akvo, Fondo Para La Paz, Indonesia Water Partnership, Lien Aid, Pump Aid, Wildlands Conservation Trust, and many others.[26]

Isn’t it ironic that they have “rich supporters”? I list two more “supporters”:

He is the third richest figure in hip-hop, having a net-worth estimate of $340 million as of April 2011.

(Kevin) Wall founded Live Earth, which planned and produced 2007’s Concerts for a Climate in Crisis.
The event featured 150 performing artists and 24 hours of music on seven continents in an effort to raise awareness about the need to address climate change.
Live Earth was selected by the Green Ball organizing committee and former Vice President Al Gore to plan this event, which is one of many events over today and Tuesday celebrating the inauguration of Barack Obama as U.S. president and Joe Biden as vice president.
The Green Inaugural Ball brings together more than 75 environmental, labor, business, civil justice and community organizations, and sponsors, to celebrate efforts to create a new “clean” economy that will repower, rebuild, refuel and restore America, the announcement said.
