Apparently last semester the Office of Religious Life made up of chaplains' from various faiths thought there should be a new addition to the weekly Muslim service. The adhan, the Muslim call to prayer would be broadcast from speakers on the top of the Chapel bell tower. Omid Safi, director of Duke's Islamic Studies Center said, "We had hoped for a symbolic action that would shine a light on how a leading international university in the American South can be a place where the symbol of the Christian heritage of the university is demonstrating hospitality to its Muslim community members." The fact there is a weekly Muslim service in the Christian chapel was not enough hospitality? The University has held weekly jummah prayers in the basement of the Chapel for over twenty years. The issue is not hospitality but promotion. Can you imagine a three minute long call to prayer broadcast across the campus? In that prayer are the words "Allahu Akbar" the very words Jihadist terrorists shout before they kill innocent people. How chilling would it be to hear those words and wonder what they might mean? How unwelcoming those words could be to the vast majority of students who are not Muslim especially if no other prayers were spoken.

I’ve only heard the Muslim call to prayer twice and find it really creepy.

Friday is the camel’s nose under the tent. It’ll go to 5x on Friday, then MWF, then MWFSS, then SMTWTFS. These bastards take their sweet time destroying their enemies. Look how much progress they’ve made since 2001.
Muslims will never be “hospitable” to any religion, including Islam. The west is modernized, the Muslim east is not, they have not changed in thousands of years. Barbaric laws, and insane savage punishments for things we take for granted on a daily basis.
If anyone thinks , says, or demands that Islam be incorporated into America, they should be free to say it. But we should be free to boot their ass to the middle east, and if they somehow survive they can beg on their knees how wrong they were.
Pull your kids out of Duke. Now.
This is not a time for childish dreams and ideas. If they don’t wanna go, then pull their funds. If they are smart, and resourceful enough to pay their own way, they won’t be at duke for very much longer. Things WILL get violent there. Guaranteed. Some Muslim on American rape/murder/assault will occur.
We have every right to defend (with lethal force) our religion and country. One day we’re going to have to and survive, or lay down and die. That’s all it comes down to.
My blood boils at the thought of “American leaders” forcing Islam down our throats. It’s pretty obvious to me that if push comes to shove, Americans will fight back. Look at the movie “American Sniper”, Americans want America back. That’s for damned sure, and one day the idiots are going to go way too far.
“American Sniper” will be one of the top 3 possible best movies winners.
So many still don’t have any understanding of what’s going on.
One must think in very simple logical terms, very basic stuff.
Why would things like this be allowed and encouraged ?

Imagine that General Grant and General Lee and their families, all throughout the Civil War, spent weekends at each others vacation homes. It didn’t happen, but just imagine that it did. What would the troops on both sides think ? Something not smell right ?

Republican Presidents, Democrat Presidents. Doesn’t matter at all, the programs, the partnerships, continue.
