I follow my mother's diet, we eat whatever we want, whenever we want and in the quantities we want. One thing's certain, mom nor I will die young, she's 94, I'm 69.

It's all in our genes.

And I might add, neither of us is over weight.

This gene thing is a bit confusing to me. I am coming up to my 90th birthday and feeling quite good. My father died from anemia at age 46 before I was born. My mother died at age 62 from intestinal cancer. I should not be enjoying life today by these records. Of course there are problems. My latest being that my doctor finally saw fitting to have me go on 2x per day Ferrous sulfate(over the counter) and that has really put some zip back into my life. I have heard that many if not most of doctors believe the chemical is dangerous. So I would infer that life is not just a matter of genes but also what these genes get for support.
