Welfare was even called Aid For Dependent Children.
Now it seems welfare is so degraded our family unit that parents can no loner be relied upon to caring , responsible or sober enough to actually feed their children with the welfare money the receive so the government has to feed them at school.

According to them kids are always starving or too fat. Which is it?
Because two meals per day is not enough, and will people starve to death?
Seems a shame to waste all that time they are eating, when it could be used to indoctrinate the future shock troops of the coming class war.
Why bother coming home? Those who won’t care for the kids they pop out need to just turn the over to the state. Everybody knows the “free up time for schoolwork, sports, family time” is malarkey. The ones looking for this are looking for spending less time with and having less responsibility for the ‘inconvenients’ they produce, not more.
Fortunately, I scrolled down and read your post prior to commenting. I WAS going to say....well, let's just have them shower at school too...it will be like prison or a homeless shelter. The only thing left for "three hots and a cot" will be staying overnight in the gym.
One day, they will be serving Soylent Yellow for breakfast, Soylent Orange for lunch and Soylent Green for dinner, if Queen Michelle has anything to do with it.
What do those kids 'parent' do with THEIR FOOD STAMPS? Buy drugs?

I used to go home for lunch at times. I just had to jump the fence to go home... I was 5 .minutes late returning to class and the teacher asked me and I told her that I was cleaning my dishes I used.
To people in the inner city, what is family? Some thug on TV said, ‘The gang is my family.’ On MLKing Day, the blacks are slaves to the government.
And of course, those of us with no kids whatsoever are expected to pay for it and get absolutely nothing back...except the proverbial “you’re helping da poor”.
If taxpayers are feeding the children all their meals at school. The amount the family gets on their SNAP cards should be decreased by tha amount consumed at school. We do not need to pay twice for the children’s food.
During a recent cold snap, schools here were closed when wind chills were on the -40 range. While reporting the closings, the media also reported which schools would have food service. It was too cold to go learn, but just fine to get out for a school lunch. One has to conclude that providing cafeteria service is the highest priority for the schools now.
Can people use the card to buy something, then return it and get cash?
They buy with the EBT card and then sell the item(s) for cash.
Gosh. God bless your Mom. I have heard that from other great immigrants before. Our country is such a mess and it is so unnecessary and unfortunate. Hopefully we have a miracle and at least get a loving American into the Presidency again.
My sister (2nd grade public school teacher), when I did talk to her, said you can tell the welfare-type kids: They had the newest & best sneakers, backpacks, etc.
The taxpayers in this country might as well be gay; we take it up the a** from every angle...
